Cricut Cartridge Review: Quarter Note

I'm a scrapbooking piano teacher, so I considered the new Quarter Note cartridge for Cricut a must-have. It includes a couple of nice fonts and many images of musical instruments, symbols, terms, and phrases. At the outset, I must say that I was disappointed that the word "piano" was not among the phrases on the cartridge. (The word "allegrissimo" IS included...how often do we musicians use that one???) Nevertheless, I have enjoyed creating scrapbook layouts with the cartridge. The price is high - a quick Internet search just now showed a range of $41 to $90. I found it on sale for about $35 at an online retailer a few weeks ago.

Here are a few pictures of a simple layout I made using the Quarter Note cartridge.

A two-page layout on 12 X 12 paper: Scales (using Font 2) and Arpeggios (Font 3). "Practice makes perfect" is one of the pre-designed phrases on the cartridge. The little keyboard is made using both the layer and shadow features.

Upper case letters with Font 2 are sixteenth notes. Lower case letters are eighth notes.

Here is a link to buy the Quarter Note cartridge on Amazon. It's a decent price there:

I printed my photos on HP Premium Plus photo paper. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it for color quality.
